At long last, my wonderful grandchildren are old enough to want a horse! So the search began for a child-safe gelding that would be their best friend and confidante. Springtown Jairus (Richfield Octavious x Springtown Sassafras), a 1997 palomino, was discovered by a friend of mine who took him on a trial to see if he would make a combined driving prospect. While he was not just right for that job, she called me to take him for a "test ride" and Jairus fit the bill perfectly. "Trace" arrived at CastleRidge in March of 2006 and was an instant hit! My daughter, Robin, and her two children are enjoying having this wonderful breed ambassador in our family.

Grooming time is horsey heaven for Trace and his new friends.

Michael and Megan have been enjoying learning the finer points of bareback riding on their new friend. (pictured below)

Trace has another job besides babysitting the human grandchildren, he is now the pasture-mate of our young heir apparent, CastleRidge Above (Above Command x Telishan Rejoice), our 2005 black colt. (pictured below with Trace)

We enjoyed owning HyLee Sadie Hawkins (HVK Fancy Dan x HVK Ondine), a long-time dream I realized just two short years ago. While she was at CastleRidge, she produced a beautiful colt by Simply Maserati, CASTLERIDGE CAMBIO CORSA, who was purchased at weaning by my friend Marilyn Esteb of Stone Pine Farm in Larkspur, Colorado.

|
| In an interesting turn of events, our friend Jay Kleiber from Denver, Colorado approached us about purchasing Sadie this last year after she had produced a lovely black filly by Above Command, CASTLERIDGE QUE SERA. So Sadie left me with this beautiful filly to remember her by as she heads west to produce future champions for Jay. |

We are lucky to enjoy year-round beauty here in South Carolina. The temperatures are mild and the vegetation is beautiful to see all year long.

From every angle, CastleRidge Farm is truly a joy to own and love and live... |
| One of our long-time residents at CastleRidge was this adorable little miniature stallion, Justin (so named for his likeness to our Morgans). Justin had a very important job keeping me informed about the status of our mares in their breeding cycles. Although we recently lost this adorable companion, he will always be remembered. |
